National Lipstick Day: We spoke to few experts about the perfect lipstick shade for Indian skin tone and got some exciting responses. Here’s all you need to know!

National Lipstick Day: Indian women are blessed with a naturally warm skin tone, something many across the globe would tan all day to achieve. However, until recently, Indian makeup looks were still super traditional or based on a lighter skin tone than the average Indian.

But, with the age of Influencers and makeup artists from brown-skinned nations, many cosmetic companies woke up and noticed how they have been missing out on a whole range of colours and palettes that the Indian skin tone would do wonders for.

So, on the occasion of National Lipstick Day, we spoke to different experts and go their inputs on the topic. First of all, we took suggestions from Waqas Yacoob Lasania, the founder of Europe girl, a popular makeup brand.

Plum

This shade of deep purple compliments the Indian skin tone and can help you be a show stopper that exudes the rich, sexy confidence you possess. It is perfect for dark skin tone!

Mauve

lipstick

A slightly subtle shade that allows you to feel like a movie start and lets you flaunt a look everyone will remember. It works well with any outfit.

Metallic Bronze/Brown

A metallic shade that works wonders with the Indian skin tone and summons the Indian goddess in you! While it does not work on every Indian look, if paired correctly with the right makeup look, it gives you a pout worth being envious of and a shine to dazzle your smile.

Matt Nude

If you still prefer Nude shades, opt for a matt nude shade. The slight pigmented yet creamy look lasts all day and can give you the perfect no-makeup look to compliment a long day of meetings.

We also asked the same question to Mihir Jain, who is the Sales and marketing director of Insight cosmetics, here’s what he suggested:

Sunset Orange

A colour many avoid but looks great on warm skin tones, like many Indian Skin Tones. With a hint of nude, this colour helps brighten your whole face while keeping your lips subtle.

Matte Pink

A shade that reminds you of bubble gum and your childhood is perfect for those weekend brunch sessions that go on all day long. It highlights the girlish charm in every woman.

Bright Red

Opt for this instead of a deep muted red. A bright red, the most loved lipstick shade, is loved for many reasons. It does wonder when applied to an Indian hue. A colour that will help you feel confident and make your smile rememberable.
